Including some of the most pristine landscapes in Cowichan Valley and on the island, I explore the colour, texture and feeling of all of the diverse scenery of the Cowichan Lake area, as well as what it means to me to have seen so much change over the years. Growing up in a small community (yes! I remember when it was actually a village, before it graduated to a town!) was one of the greatest gifts my parents ever gave me. To deeply understand the beauty of this place, it took me until I was a young adult and living in big cities, to truly 'get it'. Though I always knew Lake Cowichan was a hidden gem, it is now while raising my son, that I see what a powerful impact your environment has on the course of your life.
I hope you enjoy this series full of local treasures and maybe you get the chance to explore them all, if you haven't already.
